Go over to the Quiznos Facebook page and "like" them to get a coupon good through 3/15 to get $2 off a Large Sub or $1 off a regular sub.
It's been a while since I have been in Quiznos, don't they have $5 Large subs? If so, this would make it $3 for a Large sub...can anyone confirm for me?

Living - Whatchya Got Cookin'?! Article #6: Don't Be Afraid Of That Bird!
With this week's Target frozen food deal, I wanted to make a little room in the freezer for all those veggies I stocked up on so I pulled the turkey out of the freezer with plans to make it later this week. Now I must make it known that this was my very FIRST turkey making experience! And the end result was one juicy, tastey bird!
The best part of cooking the turkey is that we now have leftovers for sandwiches, possibly some turkey and rice soup?? We'll see what the creativity brings. It should result in at least two more meals for my family. Making meals that lead to a lot of leftovers is a great frugal way of cooking! And it makes for more convenient meal planning later in the week or freeze the leftovers for a convenient meal weeks down the road!
I want to share with you how EASY it was to ake the turkey and tell you not to be afraid of that bird! It has taken me a long time to give this a try because I was shy of making it on my own. So I hope this will help give you a little motivation to just try it out, if you too have been waiting.
Here's what you need to do:
*Buy your turkey! I have seen several great sales/deals on turkies over the past weeks, so you are sure to grab a deal. There are some for $.99/lb this week at Sunshine.
*Thaw your turkey by placing in the refrigerator and allow a day for every 4 pounds! (Um, I wish I would have known this...but we made it through.) Or you can place the turkey in a sink full of cold water and allow 30 minutes for every couple pounds.
*Remove packaging. NOTE: When the directions tell you that there are two bags shoved into the bird and to remove both of them, keep looking if you can only find one! One will be in the top cavity and one in the bottom cavity (hope this helps).
*Place turkey breast side up on rack in bottom of roaster pan at least 2 inches deep.
*I lightly rubbed canola oil all over the bird, then sprinkled with Lawry's seasoning and black pepper. This helped make for a very crispy skin and nice flavor. I'm not a skin eater, but I tried it and it was pretty tastey!
*Place in center of preheated 325 degree oven. A 13 pound turkey takes about 4 hours, I left mine in for 5. The instruction booklet included with your turkey will give you a good guideline.
*Slice and enjoy!
Total cost:
Paid around $11.44 ($.88 a pound for 13 pounds) = 3 meals or $3.82 a meal!
For additional recipes, please go here!
Do you have a frugal recipe or tip that you would like to share?! Please email me and yours might be the next to be showcased here on Living,Laughing,Saving!

Living - Getting Organized On A Frugal Budget = Getting Creative!
One of my resolutions was to get more organized and keep working towards it, no matter how bad it gets! ha! Part of my organizational flaws have been keeping my calendar neat and tidy for our family. When did you say you go on-call for work? When is that birthday party? Can we fit a dental appointment in on Friday? I don't know, I don't know, I don't know! Ugh!
I figured a nice planner would do the trick and was a sensable first step to acheiving organization. But then it hit me, I am not going to spend a bagillion dollars for a nice planner...remember, I am frugal and the idea of spending (did I say a bagillion?) money on a planner was not on my priority list. But, I did resolve to become more organized. What was this frugal, unorganized chic to do?
It was time to get creative! Don't you find that one of the most fun things about being frugal is that you get to test your creativity frequently?! And when you succeed, it is just as rewarding (or maybe even more so) as saving 50-75% or more at the store with your coupons!
So here's what I did....
A cute, fun and made-to-order planner! I am able to see a month at a glance with these monthly cover sheets.
I can also write out a to-do list or additional information to what I have written on the monthly at a glance pages here.
Plus, for those pages I get from Preschool, birthday invites, directions to an appointment or whatever miscellaneous papers I get for a month I can easily paper clip them to the back of the monthly calendar page. They are readily available and easy to find (uh-em, the goal was to get organized right!) :-)
Okay, so it may not be the most impressive do-it-yourself project but it is one that I feel so incredibly good about. I used things I already had around the house, PLUS I am still doing good working towards my resolution! Am I organized? No. But I am certainly getting there.
Want to do this yourslef?
What you will need:
*Find a notebook you want to use, this can be any notebook really. Even the $.15 back to school notebooks! (You could dress up the cover with a fun picture of your family or kiddos and then place a laminate sheet over it to protect it!)
*12 separate sheeets of paper to designate one for each of the months
*Markers/Crayons
*Calendar template (I used Microsoft Word)
*Paperclips 2-3
*Tabs (I will be adding tabs to mark the monthly pages, definitely optional)
*Double sided tape
What to do:
*Use your calendar template to print off the 12 months of the year, one per sheet.
*Place 'January' on the first page of the notebook with double sided tape.
*On the next page, draw out sections for each day of the month and add the date. I have 5 days per sheet in mine. I simply drew them out with markers using the lines as my guide.
*Place 'February' on the next page following the sectioned out days of the month for January.
*On the next page, draw out sections for each day of the month.
*Repeat until you have gone through the whole year.
*Add a paper clip to a few of the monthly pages so that they are available for adding stuff as you get it.
*Add tabs to mark out the months, if you choose to add these.
*Enjoy!
What about you? What tips do you have for getting organized on a budget? How have you expressed your creativity lately?

Remember the Carolina Pad free notebook deal I told you about here? Well, I dug my free notebook out along with a few other supplies and this is what I came up with.

Saving - HyVee Surprise Finds Today!
I ran to HyVee today to grab a few things before the week's sale ends and found some surprise deals.
*First, I purchased the Strawberries on sale for $2.48 and I am glad I did. They were very flavorful for this time of year. A trick I do during the winter months with fresh fruit that is out of season, is cut it up and add it to a canned fruit that is in 100% juice or light syrup. It gives it a twist and a fresh fruit feel.
*The Philadelphia Cooking Creme is still on a price decline for $2. So just $.50 after you add the $1.50/1 coupon here. This time I noticed recipe booklets available too!
*A 6 pk of HyVee Hee Haw bottled pop was on a price decline for $.99!
*Coupon Alert! I was lucky enough to also find a Huggies diaper coupon blinky! The coupon is good for $1.50/1 pkg of Huggies and expires 3/31/11.
As always, surprise deals are unadvertised deals and may not be available at each store. This is a heads up for your shopping trip. This trip I was at the 49th & Louise Sioux Falls store.
