Since really getting into couponing 5 months or so ago, I have really changed my "How Much Are You Willing to Pay" mentality! Before if I bought the kids' snack items or cereal for $2 I thought I was doing great. Obviously everyone's view is different. These things can be dependant on the time you have to allott to couponing, whether you need to watch your dollars or not, if you live by a budget, etc.
I remember when I first started couponing I read another bloggers post on the price she feels certain things are a good deal or not. It amazed me at how low she could put on some items and thought there is no way I would ever get there. Even though I am not there yet, as there are certain factors such as the grocery stores, drugstores and department stores you have in your area (We don't have Kroger, CVS, Publix, etc around here), I do have to say my prices for how much I am willing to pay are dropping quite a bit! How about you?!
Below is a list of a few things and the maximum price I am willing to pay (unless in case of an emergancy, but many things listed are not necessities!). We would love to hear how much you are willing to pay as well. Feel free to leave a comment!
Here it goes....
Cereal $1.25 (hard to say this now with HyVees awesome sale for FREE cereal) Kid's Snacks $1.50 (this is for things like crackers, fruit chews, yogurt cups and tubes, etc) Chips $2 Juice (64 oz) $1 Pop-Tarts $1 Fiber One Bars $1.50 Spaghetti Sauce $1.25 Cleaning Supplies $.50-$1.50 (this varies based on product type and value) Kraft or Hidden Valley Dressing $1 (now if we are out of ranch, that might require me to make an emergancy purchase!) Razors $1 (This includes a non-disposable razor with 2 blades - I refuse to buy new blades unless I can also get that package for $1) Disposable Razors $.50 (this is higher quality disposables with at least 3 in pkg) Huggies, Luvs or Pampers Diapers jumbo package $4.50 Bodywash $.50-$1 (seems it is easier to get men's cheaper than womans, thus the range here)
Let's say that you buy 1 box of cereal a month currently for $3.50 a box. This would be a total of $42 a year in cereal. Now, let's say you drop that price per box to $1.25 (watching sales and using coupons), you would pay a total of $15 a year or a savings of $27! Even just this one little change can make a big difference!
Another example for you Mommy's of children in diapers. Let's say you purchase 2 packs of diapers each month at $8.99 a package (and we know this fluctuates) this is $215.76 a year. Now let's say you rop that price per pkg to $4.50 it would be $108 a year or a savings of $107.76! Wow!! Can you imagine where you could put that extra money!
And I must note that all of the prices above are dependant on coupon availability and pricing at the store, along with sales.
Purchase $50 in P&G products between August 20 and December 31st and submit your receipts to earn a coupon booklet of over $110 of savings on P&G items! Want to know what products are P&G products (you will be surprised!) go here.
Now I just want to start this post off by letting you know that I have not been paid by Scrubbing Bubbles for this post....this is 100% my honest feedback and just passing along, well just that, my honest opinion on a product I have learned to LOVE!!
I was afforded the opportunity to purchase the new Scrubbing Bubbles Bathroom Cleaner Extend-A-Clean power sprayer through my fun with couponing. I finally finished my previous bathroom cleaner so it was time to give the new cleaner a whirl. My loving husband gave me a couple hours to myself, taking the kiddos out of the house and well, I decided to clean! ha! Who does that?!
I truly hate cleaning my bathtub and shower. I would much rather clean my toilet and that says a lot! Not anymore! I have got to be honest that I am actually looking forward to my next time of cleaning my shower. The Extend-A-Clean (EAC) product made cleaning the tub and surround so easy. It took off soap scum with very little scrubbing. I didn't have to get out my "special" cleaner to clean away the ickyness on my faucets, the EAC made it a breeze! And it seriously left a sparkle to my shower! My husband even commented on the noticeable sparkle.
I just wanted to take a moment to send along this information in case you are struggling with finding a good cleaner for your shower and HATE it as much as I USED to! How often do we talk about the products we LOVE rather than the ones we dislike?
I would love to hear about other products you use that you really like! It doesn't have to be just in the bathroom.
I know a lot of you have told me how you like to see pictures of shopping trips...so I thought I would post one of our visit to HyVee this afternoon. For all the items in the picture above, we paid only $.98 (after coupons and considering the $6 off next purchase coupon that prints at the register)! Now that is the kind of shopping trip to a grocery store I like to make!!!
What helped me get this deal?! Well, the HyVee cereal deal I told you about here and the Ball Park hot dogs coupon here.
Feel free to email me with pictures from your shopping trips with info on your bargains!!And I may share them with the Living-Laughing-Saving readers!
HyVee has an awesome deal on cereal this week, even if you don't eat it! What do I mean by that?! Well even if you don't eat cereal, the deal is sooooooo awesome that you could purchase 6 boxes of cereal for FREE (or moneymaker) and donate it!
There are several General Mills Cereals on sale 6 for $16.
There is an in-ad coupon for $10 off when you purchase 6!

Better yet, you can combine the deal with coupons! This will make it a moneymaker for whatever value of coupons you have!
Is that Awesome or what?!
Here are some coupons:

Walgreens has FINALLY published a coupon policy! I suggest that if you do any couponing at Walgreens that you print it off and keep it with you. I just went through an "issue" last week and how I so wish this had been published before now!

Possible Changes at Target
Rumors have been going around for a while that Target will be implementing a credit card this Fall that will give you a 5% discount on everything you purchase in the store with the credit card. Reader, Kristy, also sent this article if you want to read it.
Coupons For Multiple Items
Just a heads up, if you haven't already noticed, coupons that are meant for multiple items (ie. $3/2 or $1/2) are not always ringing up correctly. Target is going through some computer updates causing coupons to ring up for lesser amounts. Be sure to keep an eye on the coupons and bring it to your cashiers attention. I have had no problems yet (knock on wood) of them fixing the issue by manually correcting it.
Hancock Fabrics is hosting FREE demos this Saturday, August 28th! Check with your nearest location on what time they will be held.
I contacted the Sioux Falls store and the gal I spoke with indicated you can just come in and ask for the demo. I am not sure of how confident she was, so I just suggest you call there before going. The #336-7226.
