By the traffic on 41st Street today and in the filling parking lots at several businesses around town, it is obvious that the holiday shopping season is in full swing. With several businesses throwing pre-Black Friday events to pull us in early, it appears to be working!
With that said, if you prefer to avoid the hustle and bustle of the stores and avoid bumper to bumper traffic, you can certainly give online shopping a whirl!
Here are a few frugal tips:
*If you do not already have discount codes, be sure to search google for discount codes. Example, if you are shopping at Best Buy online, enter: XYZ store codes in the search box. Review search results for possible codes leading to 10% or more off your order or even free shipping!
*Review sites for offers of free shipping after a certain dollar amount of purchases. Example, free shipping on all orders over $50. What do you do if your total comes to $47 and shipping costs $10 - I would say find something for $3 to get you to $50 and get free shipping!!
*Check sites that have a locally based store and see if they offer free shipping to store! This is a great option to be able to take advantage of free shipping & possibly find a coupon code online for a discount on the purchases as well!
*Never assume that you can only use one coupon code! It never hurts to try to enter two coupon codes, as some businesses do allow more than one! Example: 10% discount on purchase and another for free shipping.
*Shop around! You don't have to worry about traffic or running store to store! Simply search different businesses to get your best price!
If you have any other suggestions, feel free to leave them in the comments!
So, do you plan on doing any online shopping this holiday season?
