Living - Free Summer Reading Programs!

Today was the first official full day of summer vacation at our house.  It was a great one, despite the gloomy, wet weather.

After breakfast we headed to the library.  My kids could spend hours hunting through the library books and movies available.  Our favorite location is the Caille branch library, but we do love hitting each of the library locations.

One of their new favorites is digging through the books with the CDs that read the books to them.  It is a nice change of pace.  It had been awhile since we picked these up so I think we came home with 4 of them, plus several other books today.

Keep the kids busy with summer reading.  This is one great way to help keep them from regressing from their current school year.  A few reading programs are currently available that will help keep the kids motivated too.

Barnes & Noble - head over here to print the reading journal for grade school kids.  Through reading the kids can work towards a free book!  Be sure to catch their weekly storytime on Wednesdays too.

Sioux Falls Library - you can join the Sioux Falls libraries with some summer reading and other fun (crafts, puppet shows and more)!  Kids can work towards a reward.  Check out more details on the reading programs that range from birth to teen!

Harrisburg Library - if you are in Lincoln county, you can head over and check out the reading program being offered by the Harrisburg Library, which kicks off with the zoomobile on Thursday.  They will also be offering storytime and crafts on Thursdays.
