Laughing - Today's "What The?!" Moment!

I have to admit that while I am out running errands I often run into some strange things that leave me thinking, "what the?!".  That ever happen to you?  I am sure it has.  Well, I thought I would share today's "What the?!" moment with you.

After loading the kids into the car at HyVee, I went to return the cart when I found that someone had parked in front of the cart return, which meant I had to wander around in the rain to find another cart return.  After returning to my car I just had to laugh.

The best part about this is that the vehicle parked in front of the cart return was a large SUV, which was of course sticking out into the driving area as well.  So I wondered, how could the driver not have noticed something was a little out of whack when walking around their vehicle to head into the store.  Nevermind the fact that they parked in front of the carts. Lol!

So to this driver I want to say thanks!  Thanks for the chuckle you gave me and the endless thoughts still running through my head as I try to answer the question you left in my head, "what the"?!

:-)  Have a great day!

Laughing & Saving - Reminder: Valentine's Day Clearance!

Now that Valentine's Day is behind us, that means clearance prices are abound.  I'm not quite sure if you need a reminder, but for some reason I did!  I was out running a few errands today with the kids and basically had the "oh, yeah" moment when I saw the Valentine's Day goodies aisle.  Is it just me?  I just needed a little reminder, so thought I would do the same for you.

Both Target and Walmart here in Sioux Falls are at 50% today.  Feel free to come back and update this posting with comments if you are seeing bigger percentages off, other places, cities, etc!

As you can see in the picture above, my son felt he needed several clearanced stuffed animals.  By the time I took this picture, I had already removed 5 stuffed animals!  All I did was turn my back! ha!  Now, look closer at the picture and you will see what he REALLY wanted....not the stuffed animal, but what was attached to it! :-)  hee hee!

Laughing - When Placement of Goods May Backfire! Or Does It?

Can we all agree that many stores go through great lengths in determining the proper placement of their products so as to lure us into purchasing more, right?!  If it were all about convenience, the diapers and milk would be right by the door!

Well, I found myself laughing last night while shopping at HyVee.  On the end of an aisle was a huge display of VERY large boxes of chocolates that were marked down by 50%, assuming they were left over from Christmas.  Just to the right of the boxes of chocolate was a cardboard display of fitness magazines with front pages talking about keeping your new years resolutions!  I wish I had a camera at that moment so that I wasn't chuckling all by myself.  How many people do you think passed by thinking "Oooh yummy big box of chocolates!  Wow, what a great deal only $8 I am going to get one of those!  Oh, wait a minute, that's right I am trying to get healthy, I can't break my new years resolution already!  No chocolates for me!"

I wonder how long those chocolates will be around! ha ha!  So was this creative marketing to sell the magazines?  Hmm...?

Laughing - A Couponer Without Her Sunday Paper Delivery!

Just change the word Coffee above to Coupons!

Well, today was one of those special occasions where my Sunday edition of the local newspaper did not get delivered directly to my door.  I'm guessing the blizzard we had yesterday had something to do with it!

Once my husband made his way outside to blow out our snow and confirmed that no paper had been delivered, this crazy couponer began to get anxious as to when it would be that I would get my hands on my coupon inserts and ads. ha!  It was similar to the feeling someone may experience without their daily caffeine fix!

I kind of chuckled at myself thinking, yep, this surely is an addiction isn't it!  It is certainly a means for this grateful stay at home mom to help provide for her family, but is also somewhat exciting and stimulating too!

Needless to say, I did make it out just fine to grab a newspaper.  And although I am slightly disappointed by the local paper's coupon inserts, I got my much needed "fix".

I am still shaking my head and laughing at myself.  Thought you might find a chukle in it as well.  I know I am not alone!

Laughing - Crying over Boo boos!

It is funny how a 4-year old daughter can add so much drama to a house! ha! I just chuckle inside thinking about it!

The other day, my daughter was riding on her bike and slipped a bit. This lead to a scrape from the sidewalk on her foot. No blood ran, but the owie turned red and the end of the world was nearing. Elizabeth began "fake" crying and demanding a band-aid to take care of her owie.

Oh the tears flooded her eyes and face. Of course as a Mom, you can tell if it is a true cry or a fake cry, but I went along with this fake cry. I took her to the bathroom to clean up her owie, all along she is sobbing, with tears running down her face and all.

I decided to give her a choice of a Dora or Princess band-aid. When I asked her which one she wanted, amazingly enough the wailing stopped completely and the tears dried up quickly. There was no response to my question however so I asked again, "Would you like a Dora or Princess band-aid." Whimpers completely gone and only a serious look on her face remained, "Oh Mom, this is so hard, I just can't decide."

It took all of me to keep from bursting into laughter.

Laughing - Trying to Take the Thumb Away!

Our four year old daughter sucks her thumb. She has sucked her thumb since, well, always. When she was born she had little marks on her thumb, showing that she even sucked her thumb before being born! Now that is committment!

Over the past year we have gently urged her to suck it less by bringing it to her attention when she is sucking it. We are close to the point of wanting to "take it away" completely. But our dentist has assured us that no harm at this point...so it's hard to make the move to take it away completely, since she finds comfort in it.

Anyway, today she realized on her own that she was sucking her thumb. She looked at me, watching her sucking her thumb and said, "My thumb is tired. He needs a nap." I didn't quite understand, so I asked for clarification. She said, "My mouth is his bed!"

I couldn't help but chuckle and commend her for her creativity!

Laughing - Jump Start Your Monday With a Joke!

My daughter received a package of joke cards with a Wendy's kids' meal several weeks ago. My husband opened them probably about a week ago and has been giggling ever since. They are quite cheesy, but sort of funny when you are in the right mood! :-) Lol! So....jumpstart your Monday...get ready for some jokes:

*What do you call a grizzly bear without any teeth?
A Gummy Bear
*What do you call a chimpanzee with a banana in each year?
Whatever you want, he can't hear you!
*What do you call cheese that is not yours?
Nacho Cheese

I know, they are great aren't they?! :-) I will save more for another time! Have a great day!

Laughing - My Husband Thinks He is Funny!

Those of you who know my husband will certainly appreciate the title of this post! Those that don't know him, just think of a man that likes to crack jokes, then giggles at his own jokes....even if the joke is at your expense, you can't help but giggle with him most times.

So tonight he tells me that I should sign up for some giveaway. To be honest, I am still not really sure what the giveaway was. I was busy making supper with him and the two little ones fighting for my attention.

He sits down at the computer and asks me my email address. I ask him, why he needs it and he stated he was using it to sign up for the giveaway he was talking about. I asked him why I had to sign up an why he couldn't. He told me the reason was because I am the lucky one.

What?

So I asked him, what he meant by that. He said, "well you got me, didn't you?"

ha ha ha ha ha.....

Laughing - Huggies New Jeans Diapers

Have you seen the new jeans diapers that Huggies has for sale now? If you haven't, you need to check them out. My husband says they remind him of daisy dukes and just thinks it is crazy they have made these for babies. I, on the other hand, think they are kind of cute/funny in a way. I think it would be fun to buy a pack (if I can get them with a good deal of course!). I think it would be a cute/fun photo opportunity. My son may want to kill me one day, but still fun!

Well, I just had to chuckle to myself today because a commercial came on for the new jeans diapers. And when it did, my son started to laugh and point at the baby wearing them. See...he likes them!

I am still keeping my eye out for a deal. I can only find the large boxes at Target. I would prefer just a small package of them in case they are completely ridiculous. :-) Let me know if you find a small pack in the $8 range that I can use my $3 coupon on!

If anyone has tried these, I would sure love to hear about it!
