Well, the kiddos and I strolled out today to go check out the newly opened Pomegranate Market! After such a great Groupon offer today, I couldn't help but go take a look and report back! The kids nibbled on the free samples of oranges and apples while I scoped out the products and prices. On a number of the products that I already purchase or find at HyVee or Target, the prices were a bit higher but within reason.
In the produce section they offered Dole celery for $1.59, which I think is very comparable. Grapes ranged at just over $2/lb (believe it was $2.50) on up. But at $2.50, this seems comparable. (With today's groupon, just $.80 for celery and $1.25 for grapes!)
They had several aisles of product selection, including a nice size produce section. Along the South end of the store is the bistro where you can grab some lunch or a snack. It faces the fresh bakery section, which features breads and baked goods from Great Harvest Bread Company (which resides next door)!
Also, I verified with the women at the Customer Service desk that they do indeed accept coupons, including internet printables! Yay! This just means there will be more likelihood that my little posse and I will make it back there again, besides spending my Groupon!! I will be sure to post more organic coupons as I come across them.
I wish this local business well! It is certainly fun to see it come to our city.
If you haven't checked out today's Groupon yet, check out the info here! What a *hot* offer!
Have you heard the buzz? It's Pay it Forward Day! So how do you plan to celebrate? In my opinion, there is no greater feeling to share a random act of kindness, big or small! I know I have touched on this topic recently, but in the spirit of the "holiday" I thought I would remind us all how easy it is to pay it forward.
Start by remembering the last time that someone kindly held the door open for you at a store, rather than letting it slam in your face. Or when someone offered to take your shopping cart back to the cart coral or store for you, as you were piling your kids in the car. Maybe even the time that someone let you pull in front of them on a busy street rather than leaving you stranded along the road to wait for the next unforseeable opening! Felt good, didn't it! So how have you paid it forward?
Here are a few ways to get the ball rolling or to pay it forward:
*Pay a compliment to someone
*Grab someone's shopping cart for them when they are finished, saving them an extra trip.
*Write a thank you note (even easier a thank you email)
*Surprise a stranger with a flower
*Pay for someone's meal behind you in the drive thru - or even a designated amount. Ie. Pay $5 towards their meal.
*Share some coupon love - give others coupons that you know they can use :-)
*SMILE - at anyone, everyone! You never know who might be needing even just that little bit of love to make it through to the next day!
*Donate your extras to those in need
Share your ideas in the comments below...or let us know how you are celebrating!
LOCALS: While we are on the topic, I want to discuss the possibility of making it easier on you to donate your extras to those in need this month. Thinking perosonal care items (toothpaste, TP, Kleenex, shampoo, etc) or non-perishable foods. You know, that extra tube of free toothpaste you picked up last week or your unopened travel sized shampoo from the hotel you visited this summer. I need ideas though! Where would be a convenient drop off point in Sioux Falls to collect those items over the next couple weeks? Please email me and let me know: livelaughsave2010@gmail.com The items would then be delivered to local charities that can use them most! Can the readers of Living,Laughing,Saving make this happen?
Not just on one item, on all items you purchase you can receive a 30% discount at Yankee Candle by using this 30% off coupon! Plus no minimum purchase necessary! This coupon is valid for a short time starting 12/2 through 12/5!
What great deals will you snag with this coupon?
